This is already shaping up to be a classic World Cup – with nearly every game seeing each time going for victory and still only three draws so far.

What a cracking game to start day seven. Netherlands still seemed to be celebrating the previous victory and should have been 3-1 down by half-time. The goal from Tim Cahill was simply sublime, up there ironically with all the great Dutch goals over the years (Van Basten and Bergkamp).
In the end a disappointing soft goal gave The Netherlands victory, but much for Australia to be proud about. The magic of this World Cup was certainly embodied perfectly in this game. Shame for Cahill that he will miss the final game against the reigning champions – I would love to see him snarling away at those Spanish tossers.

Speaking of those tossers, I didn’t think the Spain v Netherlands game could be topped and whilst the game was not as epic, the way in which Spain limped out of the competition can only be bettered by France in 2002 – when they didn’t score a single goal in the group stages. Spain ironically relied less on their stupid passing, but it felt like they didn’t know what else to do – creating very few chances, which were completely squandered by their “star strikers”. Spain look over the hill and badly need an injection of new blood.

On the other hand, Chile look quick and incisive and are well organised at the back. Bloody wonderful – especially as I backed Chile at 5/1 before the game. Nothing makes me happy than a tearful Iniesta. Another top Drew prediction where Debs picked Chile to win 2-1 – fair shout my luv.

The third game in Manaus, saw the battle of Cameroon and Croatia. However as soon as Song flipped out and got sent off the game was all over.

In the competition, Debs gets a special mention for leading Round 3 and leaping 12 places, but it is all the same at the top.
