Day six and we see the final set of games from the  first phase of matches. In the first game, Belgium came back late in the game to snatch the victory from a resolute Algeria team. Belgium looked impotent until they made some important substitutions and saw the game home 2-1 – but far from convincing.

The second game saw Byron leap of second place and scored a quarter of his points in one go. Good predicting together with Anna. Brazil didn’t look convincing in the first game and seem to be lacking even with some big names on the pitch. They look unusually comfortable at the back for a Brazil team, but don’t have the cutting edge. However, looking at the group, a draw was a great result for both teams.

The third game saw the final two teams enter the arena; Russia and South Korea. With two shocking goalkeepers on show it was only a matter of time for one of them blundered, and the Russian goalkeeper did it big time, Jim Leighton stylee. In the end it was a deserved 1-1 draw.

In our competition, there is no real change at the top, but a good move up the leaderboard from Anna into joint third. Plenty of time left…
