After a weekend of plenty of surprises (code for me not getting much right), we have already got a big spread of scores. At the top end, we have Peter Reynolds who is currently leading on 6.58, followed by Neil Grinham on 6.25 and our man in Paris, Craig McLaren, on 5.58. At the bottom end, we have a stunning three people who are yet to score after six games – Chris Hunt, Gemma Keane and our man in London John Dye. That in itself is an achievement – well done!!!

Anyway,  early days, and this is what makes this such a good tournament, all the games are very competitive. Amazed yesterday that Italy were 5/1 on Betfair before the game – and in fairness they had most of the good chances and should have won.  Not going to try and rant about Spain too much yet, they were as I expected, not too good without Messi! My main concern with football now is whether any men are playing the game anymore. We are seeing the bulk of free kicks being given for tackling people. The referees should be on the phone to the fifteenth official who has all the replays, and where there isn’t any contact, stamp on the players knackers and give them a yellow card. I’m finding it all a bit frustrating.

Anyway, it is all about 5.00 now, c’mon England I hear 16 of you cry…
