Welcome to the fourth update of the World Cup 2022 ONS Superbru competition!!

Switzerland 1 Cameroon 0

We either get a goal fest or a drought – the days of your 2-1’s seem to have gone at this tournament!! Interesting fact – so far we have seen four African teams play at this World Cup and they haven’t scored a single goal between them.
In our comp, we had nine 3 pointers which will shake up the leaderboard.

Uruguay 0 South Korea 0

Another nil niller thriller. Seemed like both teams were going for it from what I saw in the game. In our competition, we have another game where no-one collected the eact points and three points. We had Pete Reynolds, Andrew Walton and Mark Taylor picing up 1.5 points though for going for a 1-1.

Portugal 3 Ghana 2

At last goals for Mother Africa – but Ghana still ended up losing. Didn’t get to see this game – but sounded much more interesting than the earlier games today.

Nobody from our crew went for the 3-2 but plenty of 1.5’s to go around.

Brazil 2 Serbia 0

A great game that came to life in the second half with two goals from Richarlison – the second one an early candidate for goal of the tournament. Interestingly after Neymar limped off, Brazil looked electric – if he is injured this could be a blessing in disguise?

We also had a feast of eight people plumping for 2-0!

Pool Results

The games today saw the conclusion of the first round of matches in the group stages, and sees a big shuffle at the top of the table. Our leader to date John Hughes has dropped like a stone. Craig Taylor has continued his good performance and now takes the lead at our first major milestone. Our top three is now as follows:

  1. Craig Taylor
  2. Pete Reynolds
  3. Joe Drew

Fingers crossed to Wales and England today!
