Italy v Sweden
Italy edged out Sweden in a game where Ibrahimavic missed an absolute shocker – Italy comfortably into the last 16 and flying nicely under the radar.
Czech Republic v Croatia
With ten minutes to go everything was comfy for Croatia, then their own fans started fighting with each other, a few firecrackers, then a steward almost has his arm blown off and 2-2. Thought the steward should have been booked for diving. Shocking, especially as I had put 2-1 to Croatia.
Spain v Turkey
Didn’t watch – have no time for Spain, not even to watch them. Apparently they won 3-0 and qualify for next round, but they are not long for the competition.
Results and Leaderboard
Performance of the third round goes to Gail Simmons with a visionary 2-2 pick in the Croatia game – she goes up 11 places to 9th. Russ Pearce takes over the mantle after a run of shocking results that failed to concur with my predictions.
